this site of mine,

hills and valleys marked by

coarse brown flora and

freckled earth

a moving mountain

pacing back and forth within

the confines of our adobe home

i speak to the plants as i water their

roots,

we are all each other has for now

i speak to faces who are not here

on screens which sear my vision and

enflame my mind.
